Our Accommodations in the Heart of Provence

In this magnificent and ancient walled city, the three star Hotel Mercure - Pont d'Avignon ( the red "m" in the picture of Avignon above) will be our home for the next ten days.  A  short stroll takes you to the famous bridge (le Pont d’Avignon from the familiar old song) or to the town square, or to the Papal Palace itself.

Your bedroom is nicely furnished in French provincial style with the cheery fabrics  of Provence, and each has a mini-bar for your convenience. There is a direct-dial telephone, adaptable for computer modem  hookup, and a cable television in each room. 

An extensive buffet breakfast in the sunny dining room will start  off each day. You may enjoy a hot breakfast, or sample whatever you like in the way of local fresh produce, cheeses, cold meats, cereals, and of course, fresh breads and croissants.

We will host a Welcome Dinner Party on the evening of our arrival, as well as a Gala Farewell Dinner on our last night in Avignon.
