America's Heritage

A Golfing Holiday in

Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia

There are few areas in the United States with as rich an historic heritage as this southeast corner of Virginia.  From the landing of the very first settlers at Jamestown, though the colonial period of America's history and the political rumblings leading up the the Revolutionary War, from the American resistance against the British in the War of 1812 to the Peninsula Campaign of the Civil War and the battle for Richmond, this area has watched the history of America unfold before its very eyes. Colonial Williamsburg itself is a marvelous restoration of the original 18th century streets and buildings and a living portrait of a long-gone way of life.  All this seems to be in complete harmony with the beautiful surrounding countryside and its golf communities and country clubs, a perfect location for your golf and sightseeing vacation.

Please note that 2007 is a special year for us as we celebrate the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown.  In 2008, we will still have the unique opportunity to experience an impressive set of exhibits specially created for this event.

Our plan for your holiday:

Every-other-day of our visit, Larry will take the golfers in our group to play four great courses in the region surrounding our home base . On those days, the non-golfers will go exploring with Carolyn to discover interesting corners of the area.  We will have our motor coach and professional guide to show us the treasures awaiting us. On the non-golfing days, our entire group will explore the sights together, again with our coach and guide.  One of these days will be spent at perhaps the world's most wonderful amusement park, Busch Gardens - the Old Country

Included are all breakfasts, most lunches, two dinners and a Welcome cocktail party.  Most evenings are free so you can get to know your new hometown and sample the many and varied restaurants in your Williamsburg neighborhood. You may chose as an additional option to attend any of several unusual dinner theaters, to try one of the authentic colonial taverns for an old-fashioned meal, or to take an evening tour in Colonial Williamsburg.

We will call the Williamsburg Hospitality House home for the full ten days of our holiday.  Everything you need for your comfort and convenience will be provided by your hosts -- this will be a dream vacation!  We are within easy walking distance of the restored area of Colonial Williamsburg, and you will  have ample free time to enjoy its quaint shops, buildings and gardens on your own.  For the full itinerary, click on ItineraryAmerica , below.
