Golfing in the Heart of Provence Each of the four days of golf will begin with departure of the entire group by motor coach. After arriving at the course and saying good-bye to our non-golfers, we'll have ample time to load up our carts, and hit balls on the range and putting green. Between nines, each foursome will have a leisurely Provencal lunch. After the round, we'll rejoin the group for the ride back to our hotel.
Day 2 - Grand Avignon Within 15 minutes of our hotel, in the magnificent, broad valley of the Rhone river, this challenging 18 hole course awaits. A traditional par 72 layout, it has four sets of tees, providing lengths ranging from 4641 meters (5105 yards) to 6037 meters (6641 yards). There are six lakes that come into play on nine of the holes. The unique driving range (foreground below) actually requires you to hit into one of the lakes. There are many varieties of trees lining the fairways, helping to make the course demanding as well as interesting. Clubhouse and several lake holes
Day 4 - Vacquerolles In contrast to Grand Avignon, this course lies in a narrow valley, with few water hazards, but numerous sand traps. The holes run back and forth along the sides of the surrounding hills, covered with fragrant wild flowers. This par 72 course has two sets of women's and men's tees, with distances ranging from 4997 meters (5497 yards) to 6260 meters (6886 yards). It is only minutes from the ancient Roman town of Nimes. 9th hole with tree-covered hills in background
Day 6 - Servanes Drenched in sunlight, sheltered from the local wind (Mistral) by huge outcroppings of white rock characteristic of the Alpilles mountain range, and edged with olive groves, cypresses and cascading lakes, this memorable golf course offers a dramatic setting for a truly unforgettable round of golf. With four sets of tees, ranging from 4811 meters (5292 yards) to 6121 meters (6733 yards), this par 72 course rises and falls with the natural terrain at the base of this mountainous area, making it one of France's very finest golf experiences. The club house, a former olive oil mill, has a large bar, three dining rooms, and several lounges, resulting in an atmosphere of comfort, tranquility and warmth. Par-5 fourth hole nestled among the rugged outcroppings of the Alpilles
Day 8 - Pont Royal This stunning 18 hole, par 72, golf course, the only one in France designed by Seve Ballesteros, offers breathtaking views of the Alpilles mountains to the west and the Luberon range to the north. On a broad ridge between these two ranges, the holes curve along sloping hillsides, occasionally spanning deep ravines or strategically placed lakes. It offers five sets of tees, providing lengths from 4847 meters (5332 yards) to an intimidating 6303 meters (6933 yards). Wonderfully kept throughout the year, Pont Royal will offer tactical challenges and test your golfing skills. This is aptly illustrated in the picture below. 187 meter (206 yard) par-3 eleventh hole, over ravine, looking back at tee.
