Your 2008 Scottish Itinerary at a Glance Begins on Friday, August 22nd and ends on Sunday, August 31st Day 1: Arrival Edinburgh Airport. Transfer to the Royal George Hotel in Perth. Evening: Welcome Cocktail and Dinner at the hotel. Day 2: Golfers: Gleneagles, with lunch at the clubhouse. Non-Golfers: Branklyn gardens and Scone Palace. Lunch in a nearby village. Evening free. Day 3: Group touring day: Sterling Castle and the beautiful Trossachs in the central highlands, with a cruise on Loch Lomond, with lunch along the way. Evening free. Day 4: Golfers: Carnoustie, with lunch in the club house. Non-golfers: morning coffee in Arbroath and a tour of the ruins of Arbroath Abbey, then lunch in the village of Glamis followed by a tour of Glamis Castle. Evening free. Day 5: Morning guided walking tour of Perth, lunch and afternoon free. Evening free. Day 6: Golfers: Dunkeld and Birnam with lunch in the clubhouse. Non-golfers, Blair Castle tour with lunch in the village of Pitlochry and if time allows, a visit to the Salmon Ladder. The golfers will join us for a tour of Dewar's World of Whisky. Evening free. Day 7: Group touring day: Full day in Edinburgh, with a guided tour of the Royal Mile and the Castle, lunch in a traditional restaurant, independent dinner, and in the evening, the world-famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Day 8: Golfers: St. Andrews. Non-golfers: guided tour of the historic town of St. Andrews, meeting the golfers for lunch at Rusack's Hotel, overlooking the Old Course and a visit to the Golf Museum. Evening free. Day 9: Full day in Edinburgh, starting off with a guided visit to Holyrood Palace and then a free day to enjoy shopping, further sightseeing, or just relaxing in the lovely Princes Street Gardens. Evening: Farewell Scottish Dinner at the hotel. Day 10: Departure day. Transfer to the Airport with our guide to see you off.
